Meet the Brand: Homi Baby - Fetch

Meet the Brand: Homi Baby

We’re excited to welcome to the Summer Market (and to Denver!) Homi Baby, a Utah-based family company that creates unique children’s’ toys made with maple, oak and hickory hardwoods, and non-toxic paints and finishes. With an offering that includes organic wood rattles to hand-tied leather hair boys (all with a simple yet beautiful design), Homi Baby will undoubtedly have the perfect gift for the children in your life.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION FOR STARTING YOU BRAND?

We wanted to build toys that you could leave out when you had company over! Avoiding plastics and fluorescent colors, so we could create something beautiful and safe.

WHAT WAS THE FIRST PRODUCT YOU CREATED?

Our Classic organic Montessori Rattle.

HOW HAS YOUR BRAND EVOLVED AND GROWN?

We expanded our product line as our twin girls have grown older.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PRODUCT OR COLLECTION YOU’VE CREATED?

We love our pikler climbing triangles. We love seeing kids using their imagination and their confidence being built.

WHAT MATERIALS DO YOU WORK WITH?

We work with maple, oak and hickory hardwoods and use only non-toxic paints and finishes.

WHAT’S THE BEST PART OF YOUR DAY?

Watching whatever movie my girls want to watch on the bed in the middle of the day!

WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO?

We love watching kids use their imagination during open-ended play and creating neutral, natural, and beautiful toys for that purpose.

IF YOU COULD WORK WITH ANY COLORADO MAKER, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?

Urban Baby Co! We love their designs and everything their brand stands for.

QUICK FACT #1

“Homi” is a combination of our last names, Holt and Miller.

QUICK FACT #2

We started when my wife was wanting to get a wood rattle for our twin daughters, Margot and Violet.

QUICK FACT #3

We started out in a very small one car garage.

So many people get caught up in the small details, just start and everything else will fall into place.
